Episode 2 Breakdown

CHAIR EPISODE 2 

She was hurt, angry and confused.  She went looking for a little liquid comfort and a reminder that she could still turn a man's head.

Segment 1

Sexy Rexy and Natalie meet in Jessica’s bedroom at Llanfair. Rex: Natty, it’s me.  Rex. Nat: What are you doing here?  Rex: I came to find you.

Niki/Vicki visits Troy.  Hi.  Mrs. Davidson, right?

Nora runs into Lindsay at Statesville and the fur flies.  Lindsay is sure that Nora is there to gloat.

At Capricorn, Chad tries to smooth things over with RJ after refusing his job offer but RJ is pissed off.  Chad: So who do you figure for the series this year?  RJ: Icy stare. Chad: Yeah, you’re probably right.  It’s too early to tell.  RJ stares down Chad.  Seth comes in and observes that things are heating up.  Chad agrees and says that always happens when he has to leave.  He has an early class in the morning.  Chad decides, though, to have another beer. Seth wonders what is going on with RJ. Chad: I turned down some extra work.  Seth tells Chad it is a good thing he didn’t take RJ up on his offer (Shut up, Seth)

Carlotta, dressed in red, confronts RJ about setting her up to misunderstand about Keri’s supposed credit card debt.

Blair strolls in dressed in red.  When she sees Chad and Seth, she says, “Let the party begin.”  In the meanwhile, Chad notices her and locks his eyes on her. “Wow”

Segment 2

Natalie seems really surprised and somewhat muted to find Rex at Llanfair.  Jessica leaves them alone to go meet Seth at Capricorn.  Natalie finally hugs Rex.  Rex pretends that he didn’t know about Natalie and Jessica being switched at birth when he came.

Carlotta and RJ spar.  RJ accuses Carlotta of being the one who tried to break up Keri and Anphonio.  THEN out of the blue, without an ounce of foreshadowing or continuity, Carlotta tells him that he will lose Keri just like he lost Tea. (WTH?) RJ: Don’t you talk to me about Tea. Carlotta: She dumped you for Todd Manning.  She chose the devil himself over you.

Chad and Seth continue to get hot over Blair: Seth: Look at the new Mrs. Manning. Chad: Oh, man, she is so hot.  Too bad she has a husband.

Asa comes in with two Texas good ol’ boys and spots Blair: “Speaking of crawling on your belly.  I see somebody I used to know.” Good Ol’ Boys: She an old friend of yours, Asa?  Asa: No. Just a tax deduction.  He hightails it over to Blair who is sitting at the bar sipping a drink. Asa: Congratuations.  Blair: For what?  Asa: I hear Manning sucker punched you again.  You thought it could really work this time.  Thought you could turn that mad dog into a man.  Instead he stuck his teeth right into you again. Blair: I don’t need him any more than I needed you.  Asa: Who do you need? Blair: Nobody.  Asa: Well, good because that’s what you got.  Blair orders another drink.

Lindsay continues to have a meltdown as she accuses Nora of just trying to rub it in.  Nora swears that she is just there to check on work conditions for another client but Lindsay doesn’t believe that for a second.

Nikki/Vicki pretends that she is there to request that Troy give Ben more working hours at the clinic.

Segment 3

Nikki/Vicki wonders if Troy is seeing anyone and then suggests that he date Gabrielle Medina.  Troy explains that he is interested in Nora. Nikki/Vicki goes off on why Nora has to have every good-looking guy in the county.  Troy in turn wonders if Nikki/Vicki is okay.

 RJ gets pissed off at Carlotta for bringing up Tea but says: Talking about Tea does not bother me.  I just do not care about ancient history. Carlotta tells him that Tea was in town the other day and then rubs it in that Tea didn’t even look him up.  She accuses him of letting Tea down, it was all his fault that he lost Tea (WTH?)  “She chose the devil himself over you.”  RJ disagrees but Carlotta goes for her last big shot and tells him he will lose Keri just like he lost Tea because he lets everyone who tries to love him down.  (I do wonder what Carlotta has been smoking lately)

Asa and his Texas good ole boys approach Blair. It gets ugly. Blair: Well, what’s this the posse?  Asa:   I tried to talk them out of it but they wanted to meet you. You guys got all your shots?  Do not let the sexy look fool you.  There’s a she-wolf underneath that.  GOB:  I like a little spirit in my women.  Asa: Yeah, that’s why I married her. The witch almost killed me.  Blair: You couldn’t keep up, if you know what I mean.  Asa: Couldn’t get close with all the men in front of me.  Blair: If you stallions ever get tired of hanging around with someone ready for the glue factory then belly on up to the bar here with me later. Blair leaves to go to the powder room but Asa still calls after her.  Just as she is walking behind Chad who appears concerned and upset, Asa yells, “Let’s go, boys. You never want to bother a lady when she’s working.”

At Capricorn, Jessica tells Seth that Rex is in town.

At Llanfair, Rex gives Natalie a small doll, Mrs. Grundy, that he saved from their childhood.  They talk about being raised by Roxy.

Lindsay learns that Nora and Troy slept together.

Segment 4

Nora and Lindsay continue to spar.  Lindsay is very upset that Nora slept with Troy.  “Did he call out your name, Nora?”  “What kind of man sleeps with a woman one minute and terrorizes her the next?  What kind of man pretends to be his brother just to get what he wants?”  Lindsay hits a nerve and Nora seems shaken.  Lindsay comes in for the kill with, “Troy is every bit as crazy as Colin. He’s just better at hiding it.” (You go, Lindsay)

Troy wonders if Nikki/Vicki has accidentally mixed her meds.  Nikki/Vicki claims that she has a heightened sensitivity to caffeine and she is reacting to drinking too much coffee.  Troy pretends to accept her explanation but once she leaves he looks skeptical.  Meanwhile, outside of his apartment Nikki/Vicki realizes her attempt to get Gabrielle away from Bo by throwing her at Troy was a disaster.

Rex and Natalie reminisce about life with Roxie.  Natalie tells Rex that he will always be her brother. (Touching scene).

Jessica tells Seth about what happened with Natalie and Rex.

Blair returns and asks for her drink from the bartender, Kevin.  Chad can’t keep his eyes off of her.  He is looking at her in the mirror behind the bar.  Blair: “Like the view?”  Chad: A lot.  Blair: It’s better from here.  She reaches out her hand and when he takes it she pulls him in front of her.  Chad: You’re look great tonight.  Blair: You’re look pretty great too. [Chad does his lip biting thing—Sigh.] 

Segment 5

Blair gives a piece of paper with a song to play and tells him to tell the pianist that she wants him to play it slow and easy.  Chad: What’s up?  Blair: You’re so impatient.  Why don’t you come over here and lift me up on the bar.  I know you can.  He does then Blair grabs a microphone.  Blair sings, “What’s Love Got To Do With It” to Chad, slow and easy, with emphasis on the haunting question, “Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?”

As she sings, Blair flashes back to the portrait of the family at Dorian’s with the wine dripping down Todd’s face.  There are various shots of RJ, Seth & Jessica, Troy & Nora (who has run to Troy because she upset about what big, bad Lindsay implied) and Lindsay throwing things around in the prison laundry.  When Blair finishes the song, Chad claps wildly (Kassie DePaiva was phenomenal, btw).  Jessica and Seth leave.  Chad helps Blair down from the bar and she comes on to him: Why don’t you come over here and help me down.  He does.  Don’t tell me you didn’t like that song. Chad: Are you kidding?  The song was….gr… Blair: Why don’t you relax and maybe I’ll sing you another one.  I love to sing and I could tell you like to watch. Maybe I can give you a private concert.  Chad: I would love to spend time with you Mrs. Manning…  Blair: Why don’t you cut the Mrs. part and the Manning too.  It’s just Blair now.  Chad: Okay, but I have an early class tomorrow.  Blair: Cut it.  Come on.  Have another drink. Chad comes up beside her at the bar: “You really are throwing them back tonight.  Blair: We all have to have hobbies.  Chad: Maybe you should get someone to drive you home.   Blair: Are you offering?  Chad: Yeah.

Segment 6

Sexy Rexy goes downstairs at Llanfair and catches Nikki/Vicki having an angry fit.  Sexy Rexy realizes that something is not right with Nikki/Vicki.

 Nora whines to Troy about running into Lindsay.

Chad helps Blair out of the back door of Capricorn.  She leans against the door and looks at him.  Chad: Is something wrong?  Blair shakes her head: What’s the hurry?  Chad: I told you I‘d take you home.  Blair: The night is young and you’re not so bad yourself.  She kisses him.

Nikki/Vicki goes off on Rex.  Jessica walks in and wants to know what is going on.

RJ looks wistfully at a picture of Tea (WTH?)

Todd arrives on Tea’s doorstep.
